    Snowflakes Hitch a Ride

I love snow. Before moving to Syracuse for graduate school, I had never experienced so much snow. Each year, the first snow always excited me. I loved that cozy feeling that you get when you come inside after being out in the cold. As you warm up, you can still see tiny snowflakes on your coat, on your scarf, in your hair. They are so pretty! In my haiku, I tried to capture that special, almost transitional, moment when you come in from the cold and watch a snowflake before it melts.

Although I spent 12 years in Syracuse, I never became cynical about snow. Now that I have moved away, snowflakes make me nostalgic for Syracuse.
