    At Alto Cinco

I was drawn to this haiku because Alto Cinco is one of my favorite restaurants. I guess you could say I'm a sucker for atmosphere. I like to enjoy where I'm eating more than actually eating, if that makes any sense. At Alto Cinco, I particularly love the ceiling -- a very intricate tin ceiling. As you can see on my poster, the border incorporates tiles from the restaurant's ceiling.

Beyond that, I was also very excited to draw the wine. I look for very graphic solutions to my illustrations in addition to a whimsical feeling. While sketching for this poster, I kept drawing that swirl in the wineglass over and over. I was fixated on the swirl of the wine, and I just had to figure out the solution.
