Every artist should research his work, and my research was pretty fun. I wanted to get a feeling for what the Middle Ages Brewery was making. In college, it's more popular to go with what's cheapest. But I have friends who drink respectable beers, and they turned me on to the local brands. I tried Impaled Ale, and Wailing Wench. Both were superior to my watery comfort zone beers, and both were fresh.

For the poster, I wanted to mesh medieval and modern. I actually lucked out with the model. His name is Mike Gargan, and he works in the print shop, in the same building I have my studio in. He has a medieval aura to him, I barely had to edit anything to get the image I wanted.
