I’ve eaten countless loaves from Columbus, so I knew I wanted to create a poster for them. I wanted to subtly pay homage to the progression from raw materials to a finished product – wheat gets made into bread, which is made into a sandwich. Every creator appreciates this journey. As consumers, I feel like we forget where our art and food come from. So this poster is, in a way, a love letter to artists of all kinds.
My family has Italian heritage that we keep in touch with, and I wanted to bring that kind of old-world influence into the color palette and composition. The thing I love most about our modern age is how we’re able to share our cultures and bring them together.
